St Laurence’s Children’s Haven offers abused, neglected and abandoned children love and care in a secure and warm environment.
Founded in January 2001 as the dream of a group of lifelong friends, and run under the auspices of the Roodepoort Child and Family Welfare Society, the Haven provides cooked meals, counselling, education and clothing, which for many children is a first in their young lives.
As the pain and trauma of the past eases, we help them grow into healthy, caring and balanced young people, with support for school leavers through study programmes and employment.
Administration and fundraising are voluntary, so every rand raised goes directly to the children. About the haven…
